Global health is the study of promoting well-being among the world’s people. This interdisciplinary minor draws upon the fields of history, literature, and the social and behavioral sciences to provide you with the reading, writing, thinking and analytical skills to think broadly about the health challenges the world’s people face. Through actively participating in these courses, you will gain an understanding of the complex global issues that influence health including the social determinants of health, the complex relationship among health and environment, and you will explore the historical, social, and cultural factors that lead to health outcomes around the world. This is a valuable minor to students interested in pursuing careers in health care, journalism, public policy, and public health to name a few.
