BIOL 2211 - Anatomy & Physiology II for Nursing & Allied Health (lecture) 3 Credit(s)
The purpose of the course is to help potential healthcare professionals in nursing and other fields develop the knowledge base they need to understand medical treatments and drug therapies as well as general familiarity with the organization of the human body and the concept of homeostasis. Human body systems are reviewed with a focus on clinically relevant surface and functional anatomy and development of a clear conception of what physiological control systems are and how they work to create and maintain homeostasis at the cellular, tissue, organ, organ system, and whole-body levels. In this semester we focus on the organ systems that are responsible for maintenance of normal blood parameters. This course serves as part of the two- semester pre-requisite for the nursing program at Goldfarb School of Nursing. It is intended to provide an introduction to the structures and functions of the human body for allied health professions.
Required for Biopsychology majors and Pre-Nursing.
