Master of Public Health (MPH)

Expand your knowledge and diversify your job prospects with the online Master of Public Health (MPH) from University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. This interdisciplinary degree will increase your understanding of public health principles; while helping you develop valuable skills to be fully prepared for the next stage of your career. You may choose to pursue one of two concentrations: Generalist or Epidemiology.

The Generalist concentration offers a versatile foundation in public health, preparing students to address diverse health challenges across communities. This concentration equips graduates to excel in roles within public health agencies, non-profits, healthcare systems, and other sectors, providing innovative solutions to complex health issues.

The Epidemiology concentration prepares students to investigate and address public health challenges by studying disease patterns and causes in populations. Students develop advanced skills in study design, data analysis, and public health surveillance. Graduates are equipped for careers in research, healthcare, government, and global health, with the expertise to design evidence-based interventions and policies that improve population health outcomes.

The MPH Program at UHSP is 100% online, flexible, and you may complete it in 16-months if matriculating full-time, or in 3 years if part-time. During the program, you will engage in innovative learning opportunities led by renowned expert faculty from the University’s College of Global Population Health where you will expand your knowledge of public health while developing skills in data analytics, program planning, systems thinking and entrepreneurship. The program consists of 42 total credit hours taken in 8-week terms (i.e., if full-time, two 3-credit hour courses are taken each term). The MPH program is also available to undergraduate students choosing to pursue the 4+1 pathway, completing their undergraduate degree and MPH in 5 years.

Additionally, the MPH + PharmD dual-degree program is designed for students seeking to expand their expertise at the intersection of public health and pharmacy. This unique program equips future pharmacists with the public health knowledge and skills needed to address population health challenges, improve healthcare systems, and promote health equity. Both degrees can be completed within 4 years and interested students need to apply during the Spring semester of their P1 year.
