PHAR 5104 - Integrated Pharmacotherapy: IV

The endocrinology course is the fourth in a series of 9 integrated pharmacotherapy courses that is designed for student pharmacists to develop a broad understanding of pathophysiology, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapy in major areas of endocrinology. This course is a three-credit hour course in the first half of the spring semester of Professional Year 2. This course focuses on the care of patients with diabetes mellitus and other common endocrine disorders. It prepares students to serve as responsible, professional, efficient and effective providers of drug information to health care providers, patients and their caregivers. This team taught, interdisciplinary course provides students with the opportunity to learn and apply concepts using a problem-based approach with emphasis on the integration and application of fundamental principles to specific clinical situations.

Prerequisite(s): PHAR 5103 , PHAR 5102  with a C- or better.
Corequisite(s): PHPR 5132 .
